Thanks for dropping by!!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03866210183340260728noreply@blogger.comBlogger138125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7998393988887615221.post-90232185295468113352014-10-30T12:35:00.000+08:002014-10-30T12:35:40.491+08:00September - A Year in Time.My daughters both love One Direction and we were lucky enough to get tickets (purchased well over a year before the actual concert). So you can imagine the excitement come September :) not only did we organise for the girls to go in a stretch limo we had fanatic seats, only 10 rows back for the stage. The lads put on an awesome show Miss six is adamant that Harry smiled and waved at her lol just love the innocence.<br />
<br />
Using the reverse September foundation page, lots of distressing with Ingvild Bolme distressing tool and TH Vintage distress ink as previously done with the majority of the pages within my album. After using my stamps last month I forgot how versatile and fun they are. Will definitely be using them more often now.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UbYobCjqJQk/U03Hu3Nx4BI/AAAAAAAABVQ/47__SWPkz0Y/s1600/September.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UbYobCjqJQk/U03Hu3Nx4BI/AAAAAAAABVQ/47__SWPkz0Y/s1600/September.jpg" height="400" width="341" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
1. Using the reverse of the G45 <i>September</i> foundation<a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=348_524_783&products_id=5393" target="_blank"> <i>A Place In Time</i></a> page I cut and distressed all the edges, folded and creased then inked in random spots and adhered it to a piece of matching brown bazzill.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sRgdoui69ks/U03DIMuuj9I/AAAAAAAABUk/tKINW0z-LK8/s1600/Sep-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sRgdoui69ks/U03DIMuuj9I/AAAAAAAABUk/tKINW0z-LK8/s1600/Sep-2.jpg" height="186" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
2. Using Kaiser Butterfly stamp inked with Vintage Photo place image in top right corner.<br />
3. The coordinating cut apart from September didn't quite fit in so from my stash I grabbed a Prima notecard Madeline collection to frame my photo. Inked with Vintage Photo distress ink.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KZh7dBfo37w/U03DIGInBcI/AAAAAAAABUo/2VOHHNRro1o/s1600/Sep-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KZh7dBfo37w/U03DIGInBcI/AAAAAAAABUo/2VOHHNRro1o/s1600/Sep-3.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
4. Place a Dusty Attic Vintage clock chippie in the corner, I left mine raw.<br />
5. The flowers were left over from other projects and just happened to be lying on my desk and actually fitted in quite well, think they are Petaloo and a Prima blossom spray. Ink a small piece of gauze and arrange blossoms adding a Prima chipboard ticket and Thickers foam lettering - Daydream.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Sw0K3uuQoLM/U03DKccwNJI/AAAAAAAABU4/GlNMa9lY3JA/s1600/Sep-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Sw0K3uuQoLM/U03DKccwNJI/AAAAAAAABU4/GlNMa9lY3JA/s1600/Sep-1.jpg" height="208" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
6. I made a bunting banner from scrap paper and adhered to some string.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2jlMYB3AaDg/U03DLsBhwiI/AAAAAAAABU8/zJyjOel9CsM/s1600/Sep-5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2jlMYB3AaDg/U03DLsBhwiI/AAAAAAAABU8/zJyjOel9CsM/s1600/Sep-5.jpg" height="156" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
7. With a Prima clock chippie, feather and beige seam binding made into a bow finishes the embellishing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-p5UOUjrWCuQ/U03DOA3eKhI/AAAAAAAABVE/4ktjXrd4PXk/s1600/Sep-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-p5UOUjrWCuQ/U03DOA3eKhI/AAAAAAAABVE/4ktjXrd4PXk/s1600/Sep-4.jpg" height="320" width="233" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
8. Using Carolee's Creation Adorn it tiny etched natural alphas I journaled the occasion.<br />
<br />
So tell me, have you ever started a project then get so busy that you put off completing it? It's starting to get a bit like that with this album. So far behind but only three more months and it's finally completed.<br />
<br />
Thanks for visiting!<br />

You may remember earlier in the year my son got himself the most adorable puppy, well she has grown and grown but still has so many puppy habits lol, she loves to chew (as you will see from her collar - lol) and still destroys most of her toys.<br />
<br />
To make this page I used some of the following products:<br />
G45 Place in Time 8x8 pad<br />
TH Artful Flight & Artful Things mini stamps<br />
Kaiser Cherish Stamp<br />
Crafters Workshop Stencil - Mini Bricks<br />
TH Distress Inks - Worn Lipstick & Broken China<br />
TaterAngels Glimmermists - Santa Baby & Jack Frost<br />
Jo Sonja's Gesso<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fONUn645d18/U00WqZGmTQI/AAAAAAAABUQ/-jIKHCffwtQ/s1600/August.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fONUn645d18/U00WqZGmTQI/AAAAAAAABUQ/-jIKHCffwtQ/s1600/August.jpg" height="400" width="382" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
1. Using the reverse of the G45 <i>August</i> foundation<a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=348_524_783&products_id=5393" target="_blank"> <i>A Place In Time</i></a> page I cut and distressed all four edges with my distressing tool. I like to cut my page a little smaller than the album and adhere to coloured bazill, this time I used<br />
2. Using the Mini Bricks template and TH worn lipstick distress ink I placed on upper left & lower right corners. Spritz with TA glimmermists Santa Baby & Jack Frost.<br />
3. Lightly ink all edges with TH Broken China distress Ink.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cdy6FwEArl0/U00WkpyiOJI/AAAAAAAABUE/bkE4cjzoOfA/s1600/Aug-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cdy6FwEArl0/U00WkpyiOJI/AAAAAAAABUE/bkE4cjzoOfA/s1600/Aug-1.jpg" height="320" width="226" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now the fun, building your page :)<br />
<br /></div>
4. Position where you would like your photo but don't adhere it there just yet.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kvIuVFdP5tY/U00WfZeyeMI/AAAAAAAABTs/6902ZVziJtk/s1600/Aug-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-kvIuVFdP5tY/U00WfZeyeMI/AAAAAAAABTs/6902ZVziJtk/s1600/Aug-2.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
5. Next take your stamps and add some shrubbery in the background, I used TH Artful Flight & Artful Things mini with TH Vintage photo distress ink (my favourite) most will be covered by fence, photo and flowers. Using Kaiser Cherish stamp place image above photo in centre.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ecZlQXD7Nko/U00WgMsgdRI/AAAAAAAABT0/jR6qSLftzl8/s1600/Aug-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ecZlQXD7Nko/U00WgMsgdRI/AAAAAAAABT0/jR6qSLftzl8/s1600/Aug-3.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
6. Using a chipboard fence paint with gesso before lightly sanding to give an aged worn look. Place on either side of your photo.<br />
7. Take the <i>August </i>Cut Aparts reverse, make a bunting flag and place under photo. Use tiny provocraft alpha stickers, choose a word which relates to your photo, in my case <i>'Grow' </i>and place<i>.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dUBMK-FfGzY/U00Wi_GPiII/AAAAAAAABT8/yC1_8FY1vKs/s1600/Aug-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dUBMK-FfGzY/U00Wi_GPiII/AAAAAAAABT8/yC1_8FY1vKs/s1600/Aug-4.jpg" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<i><br /></i>
8. Using twine, form a circle and place over your photo, this helps bring attention to your subject.<br />
9. Using a bigshot or a die cut machine cut a paper florish from left overs and arange in bottom right cornor and position some prima flowers and vine and you are done.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Te9BNZ9wLDI/U00WoW8dRaI/AAAAAAAABUM/L7HF_xQhRtI/s1600/Aug-5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Te9BNZ9wLDI/U00WoW8dRaI/AAAAAAAABUM/L7HF_xQhRtI/s1600/Aug-5.jpg" height="320" width="304" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

How many of us have unfinished projects? How many times do you start a project excitedly only to get bogged down in everyday life chaos... well I have and do often and I am sure it's not going to change in the near future. I am always starting new projects which get put on hold because I discover a new product or technique and sometime a new craft! My promise to myself this year was to finish all my 'works in progress' starting with the 'A Year in Time' album. I do love the G45 papers and the unique vintage inspired themes.<br />
<br />
This months page, July is of my precious little girl at her new school helping prepare their sustainable garden. They didn't let a little shower of rain put them off. All the children happily planted seedlings or tiny trees throughout the school. It is going to be so nice to enjoy the fruits of their labor :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vd9aypjMoh4/U00UYcgGl3I/AAAAAAAABTU/jz1ByU3sKDI/s1600/July.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vd9aypjMoh4/U00UYcgGl3I/AAAAAAAABTU/jz1ByU3sKDI/s1600/July.jpg" height="400" width="391" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
1. Using the front of the G45 <i>July</i> foundation<a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=348_524_783&products_id=5393" target="_blank"> <i>A Place In Time</i></a> page I cut and distressed all the edges, ripping a small about at the top (purely by accident!).<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
2. The colour wasn't really working so I decided to cover the flower. Splashing some yellow and blue dauber paint to help bring the colour of the photo through.<br />
<br />
3. Yellow card stock from my scrap stash was adhered on a slight angel to the photo with three pale blue pearls. Then placing a small doily behind, which was sprayed with glimmer-mist and inked with distress ink.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-T5cGHzJqvPg/U00UOtG3vxI/AAAAAAAABTE/IgA0Nsg7EWA/s1600/July-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-T5cGHzJqvPg/U00UOtG3vxI/AAAAAAAABTE/IgA0Nsg7EWA/s1600/July-1.jpg" height="320" width="230" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
4. Using the coordinating cut apart from July I chose the patterned script. Cut the postcard out and rolled it to look like a scroll and placed on a twine bow. This was then adhered to a small off cut of chipboard fence.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5tTEk3cq304/U00UPOo7fdI/AAAAAAAABTI/r4Ir-CL973U/s1600/July-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5tTEk3cq304/U00UPOo7fdI/AAAAAAAABTI/r4Ir-CL973U/s1600/July-4.jpg" height="320" width="160" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
5. Using Prima flowers, leaves and Kaiser filler roses arrange to cover right corner.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fb4Oz1odJ0E/U00ULlMA_VI/AAAAAAAABS4/UY4wXTqa2ZQ/s1600/July-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fb4Oz1odJ0E/U00ULlMA_VI/AAAAAAAABS4/UY4wXTqa2ZQ/s1600/July-2.jpg" height="320" width="195" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
6. Using same coordinating pattern script paper make two pennant flags and place in top left corner, arranging Prima blossoms and bottle-cap embellishment.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bTpTLmMIizE/U00ULf7nI-I/AAAAAAAABS0/r8dWLIR7Kl4/s1600/July-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bTpTLmMIizE/U00ULf7nI-I/AAAAAAAABS0/r8dWLIR7Kl4/s1600/July-3.jpg" height="320" width="180" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
7. Lastly add Say it with Pearls spray, Collections butterfly and We R Memory scrapboards alphabets.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6V8SGu8yyC8/U00UZVZD78I/AAAAAAAABTg/IspnDqLO334/s1600/July-6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-6V8SGu8yyC8/U00UZVZD78I/AAAAAAAABTg/IspnDqLO334/s1600/July-6.jpg" height="229" width="320" /></a></div>

Life's been a little hectic and I've not done much other than get the kids back into routine and my usual volunteering at my dd primary school but I have taken a little time out for me.<br />
<br />
The background paper is <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=348_677_833&products_id=5840" target="_blank">Fabscraps - Miss Muffet</a> and the photo is of my little princess standing in the shallow water at Mandurah foreshore.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AdoUTPkZj1w/U09wG1HkLWI/AAAAAAAABWU/-FAJ3WZHjQM/s1600/beautiful.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AdoUTPkZj1w/U09wG1HkLWI/AAAAAAAABWU/-FAJ3WZHjQM/s1600/beautiful.jpg" height="397" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Gather your supplies, if you are anything like me your change your mind halfway through or add more. Building is such fun :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j0vXbAPmHUA/U09v9jbCUPI/AAAAAAAABVw/eXxe9M2TDVA/s1600/Beaut-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j0vXbAPmHUA/U09v9jbCUPI/AAAAAAAABVw/eXxe9M2TDVA/s1600/Beaut-1.jpg" height="211" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
I cut my paper to allow my photo to sit behind and to add a little shabbyness I distressed all edges and slightly rolled outwards. Inking with matching distress inks helped to soften. I used <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=846_82_215" target="_blank">TH Wild Honey, Salty Ocean and Pumice Stone</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h_OBvGBTLXM/U09ygUyjlWI/AAAAAAAABWg/Qo8bhVDfG3E/s1600/beaut-8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h_OBvGBTLXM/U09ygUyjlWI/AAAAAAAABWg/Qo8bhVDfG3E/s1600/beaut-8.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
From the piece of paper I removed I cut out two arrow shaped pieces, distress, ink, paint and then sprinkle with Diamond dust. (a little hard to see the sparkle here)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h9OrckV0uzQ/U09wGeV6RcI/AAAAAAAABWQ/OtVHVwoaaUs/s1600/beaut-7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h9OrckV0uzQ/U09wGeV6RcI/AAAAAAAABWQ/OtVHVwoaaUs/s1600/beaut-7.jpg" height="320" width="286" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Using CraftersWorkshop Mini Confetti create a few water droplets with texture paste down right side and with Craftersworkshop chickenwire add to left corner which will be slightly covered by the <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=459_326" target="_blank">Prima spray</a>.<br />

But don't let the venue fool you, we had a lot of frivolity, fun, late nights ah umm early mornings more the like and the occasional slip of the tongue. The accommodation, surrounds and food was just divine. Although not often an emotional person I came away feeling blessed and thankful for sharing such an amazing weekend with truly beautiful people, rekindled two very special friendships and met the most amazing women - can not wait for the next one! What I need now is to catch up on some Zzzzz...</span><br />

I want to share with you today an unusal project. It's always fun thinking outside the square and playing with ideas. I wanted something different to give as a gift and have played with this idea before and the papers from Webster's are so delicious I thought they would look pretty as a Tussy Mussy :)</div>

A Tussy Mussy is a beautifully decorated cone shape filled with gifts. Made from paper unlike in the earlier day when material Tussy Mussys were so popular. During the English Gregorian period (1714-1760), pestilence was rampant and indoor plumbing was not. Elegant ladies would often carry small bouquets of fragrant herbs and flowers to fend off noxious odours. Also known as nosegays, tussy mussies remained popular through the Victorian era. <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml>

<br />
Either free hand or using a template cut a cone from your chosen patterned paper. Make a 5cm edge down one side and fold. Use decortive edge scissors or border punch to make a pretty edge if you have no lace or trim. Can be made in any size, if you don't have a template cut your cardstock into a square and either remove the top by cutting to give you a straight top edge or even leave it and use when decorating your edge. I cut mine as I like the look of the lace around inside and out :) Carefully roll the cone, can be a bit tricky. If you are having trouble try rolling around a thick piece of dowl or something similar to help curl and adhere using hot glue gun or strong double sided tape.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
To finish off I made an angel using gems and jewelry findings. Secured these to a jewelry pin and added a large bead, again using your hot glue gun, slip the sharft into the bottom of the cone. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Use your Tussy Mussy for Christmas, Easter, Baby Shower, Birthdays, Halloween or any occassion you like :) Fill with gifts like make-up for a teenager or singlet, bibs & socks for an expectant Mum, Lollies or chocolates. Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and I have inspired you to get creative.<br />

Hello, Today I want to share a card with you. Graphic 45 is just so
beautiful, I love creating with the rich colours and design. Here I have
made a card using the fabulous <i>Twelve Days of Christmas</i> - Joyeux Noel, some blossoms, lace and ribbon.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0GnNgp12BF4/UxQfF29B3gI/AAAAAAAABPc/3Q5x072PqAg/s1600/G45-Card.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0GnNgp12BF4/UxQfF29B3gI/AAAAAAAABPc/3Q5x072PqAg/s1600/G45-Card.jpg" height="216" width="400" /></a></div>

<a href="http://s1094.photobucket.com/albums/i459/astam_down/?action=view&current=mynew-siggy.jpg" target="_blank"><br /></a></div>
Cut
G45 Joyeux Noel reverse to the standard card size of 6 1/4 in x 4in.
Turn over and cut a 2in strip of the rose floral and use MS Vintage
Floral and punch border. Ink edges with TH Victoria Velvet. Using double
sided tape or glue, place strip along bottom. Take a G45 chipboard
piece and adhere with pop dots to centre.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9Zgbu4QGRuM/UxQgHLd_U6I/AAAAAAAABPs/XNHwzea8_RI/s1600/G45-card+3.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9Zgbu4QGRuM/UxQgHLd_U6I/AAAAAAAABPs/XNHwzea8_RI/s1600/G45-card+3.jpg" height="197" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Tie
red Faux Suede ribbon in a bow, fold small piece of lace in half, glue
ribbon on top and place red blossom in the centre. Add mini tag,
handmade hat pin and a twist tie. Place in top left corner. (apologies
for my work mat, it's well used lol)</div>

If you don't want to give a card for an occassion why not make an explosion box. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bOQWwqfe5xo/UxLiClQvk1I/AAAAAAAABNc/lvoCrIXulLQ/s1600/Explosion+box+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bOQWwqfe5xo/UxLiClQvk1I/AAAAAAAABNc/lvoCrIXulLQ/s1600/Explosion+box+2.jpg" height="400" width="318" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TvCI5Q1_Pvo/UxLiD8NloiI/AAAAAAAABNk/9NXTguDH3cE/s1600/Explosion+box.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: black;">Firstly you will need to gather your supplies</span>. Keeping your papers from the same range is helpful to coordinate colours as it is already done for you but not a necessity as you can mix and match foral, printed or use plain card stock. I recommend choosing a heavy cardstock for the outer layer of your box, double sided is always nice but single side will work too and if you don't like the plain showing you can use stamps to embellish.<br />
<br />
What is needed:<br />
<br />
2 x 12x12 sturdy card stock (Outer box and lid)<br />
2 x 12x12 patterned paper or card in coordinating colours<br />
Scraps of coodinating paper, ebellishments or photos if you wish<br />
Paper Trimmer or Craft Knife <br />
Ruler<br />
Adhesive or double sided tape<br />
Bone Scorer or some form or making crisp creasing<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-G9OYDxjrhQY/UxGoCocfzVI/AAAAAAAABLg/7HyAtO_CNgw/s1600/Ex-box-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-G9OYDxjrhQY/UxGoCocfzVI/AAAAAAAABLg/7HyAtO_CNgw/s1600/Ex-box-1.jpg" height="320" width="317" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Step One<br />
For my Explosion Box I used<a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=index&manufacturers_id=73&sort=20a&page=2" target="_blank"> Pink Paislee - Hope Chest Collection</a> from my <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/" target="_blank">Wild ABout Scrap</a> DT Kit. Using a ruler and pencil softly mark your chosen outer layer into nine 4in squares, should resemble a tictactoe board :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wD8NFNG3zr4/UxGoHYL-qGI/AAAAAAAABLs/tUye0iegIAo/s1600/Ex-box-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wD8NFNG3zr4/UxGoHYL-qGI/AAAAAAAABLs/tUye0iegIAo/s1600/Ex-box-2.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Step Two<br />
Using your trimmer or craft knife cut out the four corners leaving your 12x12 resembling a cross. Score the inner markings of the centre square, this will help form the walls of your box. Remember to remove all your pencil lines. Ink edges if desired.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0WS7yyP8HAw/UxGoHS019YI/AAAAAAAABLw/0aprhGom3Ks/s1600/Ex-box-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0WS7yyP8HAw/UxGoHS019YI/AAAAAAAABLw/0aprhGom3Ks/s1600/Ex-box-3.jpg" height="320" width="290" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Step Three<br />
Cut your second 12x12 chosen paper to measure 10 1/2in x 10 1/2in, repeat step one but marking your squares at 3 1/2 intervals this time, again resembling a tictactoe board only smaller. Cut the four corners as before so it resembles a cross. Score along the middle square lines forming the inner walls of your box.<br />
<br />
Step Four<br />
Cut your third or centre piece of paper to meaure 9 in x 9 in, repeat step one but mark your squares at 3 in intervals this time, cutting the corners as you have previously done before. Score as before. Remember to remove your pencil lines. Ink edges if you wish.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7HOqOIAYCyI/UxGoMi9vVDI/AAAAAAAABL4/MbJ101PxwZs/s1600/Ex-box-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7HOqOIAYCyI/UxGoMi9vVDI/AAAAAAAABL4/MbJ101PxwZs/s1600/Ex-box-4.jpg" height="307" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Your project should now look like this. I inked all edges with TH Vintage Photo Distress Ink</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Step Five<br />
Using your chosen cardstock for top/lid cut a 6in square. Mark a 1in border and cut only the bottom right vertical, turning clockwise and doing each corner. Score remaining markings so you are able to fold the little flaps to form the lid.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b7mh_2fE-w0/UxGoQ9JmBeI/AAAAAAAABME/aPPJqZs1CdA/s1600/Ex-box-5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b7mh_2fE-w0/UxGoQ9JmBeI/AAAAAAAABME/aPPJqZs1CdA/s1600/Ex-box-5.jpg" height="320" width="307" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Step Six<br />
Using double sided tape or adhesive, secure the tabs on the inside to form you lid, making sure the corners are square. Ink the edges.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UzHS0II394I/UxGoRG2h0zI/AAAAAAAABMI/XGIPSgg2FaE/s1600/Ex-box-6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UzHS0II394I/UxGoRG2h0zI/AAAAAAAABMI/XGIPSgg2FaE/s1600/Ex-box-6.jpg" height="278" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<b>Embellishing Inside</b><br />
<br />
You can embellish and decorate however you wish, keep it simple or make it elaborate. Your inside layers can have flowers, photos, quotes, rubons and journaling added. Using pop dots or scrap dots you can add 3-demensional which looks great. Cut or punch edges for something different.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DNxCUBElgIM/UxLI96F5vtI/AAAAAAAABNM/E2gcNhJwPac/s1600/Ex-inner-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DNxCUBElgIM/UxLI96F5vtI/AAAAAAAABNM/E2gcNhJwPac/s1600/Ex-inner-1.jpg" height="320" width="309" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DNxCUBElgIM/UxLI96F5vtI/AAAAAAAABNE/6pVm6wi3OFY/s1600/Ex-inner-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DRSIFYb9shk/UxLI-AMdwiI/AAAAAAAABNI/llwRxbrxog8/s1600/Ex-inner-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> </a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used a mixture of Prima Chipboard stickers, Kaiser Die-cuts, MS Butterfly punch and border punch, flowers, twine, rubons and say it with pearls. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DRSIFYb9shk/UxLI-AMdwiI/AAAAAAAABNQ/u9NBs1nRMco/s1600/Ex-inner-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DRSIFYb9shk/UxLI-AMdwiI/AAAAAAAABNQ/u9NBs1nRMco/s1600/Ex-inner-2.jpg" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Place doily and guaze before arranging flowers and buds, I added the burlap butterfly to the stem of a flower after I curled the wire to give it the 'flight effect'. </div>

Recycle - reuse comes to mind. These fun book trees are so much fun to make and you can involve the kids. It's actually where I got the idea from. I remember my kids doing it when in primary school a few years back.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eFtfAXo9cB8/UqgQ0r_OycI/AAAAAAAABGo/qdstU6E0UxI/s1600/xmas-tree-begin.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eFtfAXo9cB8/UqgQ0r_OycI/AAAAAAAABGo/qdstU6E0UxI/s320/xmas-tree-begin.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The size of the finished tree will depend on the size of your magazine and number of pages. You may have to join two magazines together if you like the folded edges close together when fanned out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MOqHZr0HuWA/UqgQ6dDKQiI/AAAAAAAABHA/tr5CqWQI40c/s1600/xmas-tree-fold1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MOqHZr0HuWA/UqgQ6dDKQiI/AAAAAAAABHA/tr5CqWQI40c/s320/xmas-tree-fold1.jpg" height="250" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First step is to open the cover (this will be discarded later) and take the first page and fold it diagonally to the centre as shown above.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bbNjm79nXDw/UqgQ5IMr5dI/AAAAAAAABG4/v4dArhrSeac/s1600/xmass-tree-fold2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bbNjm79nXDw/UqgQ5IMr5dI/AAAAAAAABG4/v4dArhrSeac/s320/xmass-tree-fold2.jpg" height="215" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next fold again towards the centre onto itself a second time as shown above.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ypB4w46kIF0/UqgQ1kP8aQI/AAAAAAAABGw/0cr9wWXp3h4/s1600/xmas-tree-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ypB4w46kIF0/UqgQ1kP8aQI/AAAAAAAABGw/0cr9wWXp3h4/s320/xmas-tree-1.jpg" height="309" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The pointed bit at the bottom now needs to be folded up and this fold forms the base of each page. Making sure you score each fold to help avoid it unfolding.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ajtu3LLNO1k/UqgQyv_uMHI/AAAAAAAABGc/NGVXFkvgRYI/s1600/xmas-tree-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ajtu3LLNO1k/UqgQyv_uMHI/AAAAAAAABGc/NGVXFkvgRYI/s320/xmas-tree-2.jpg" height="320" width="313" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now you have the hang of it, turn the page and start over and continue until all pages resemble the first. Once done, gently remove the cover and fan out to form your tree.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jfJFqK0naOA/UqgRs5OXKlI/AAAAAAAABHU/Yfag-s9g2Hs/s1600/5pt-stars.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jfJFqK0naOA/UqgRs5OXKlI/AAAAAAAABHU/Yfag-s9g2Hs/s320/5pt-stars.jpg" height="214" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: start;">Top with a 5 pointed Origami Star using scrapbooking paper. As long as you start with a square you can make any size you wish. Lots of you-tube videos and instructions for these on the web. These also make great ornaments hung from your Christmas Tree :)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dOkVTEbuNrk/UqgRez4bxCI/AAAAAAAABHE/kJ8YJeDbH0Y/s1600/xmas-tree-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dOkVTEbuNrk/UqgRez4bxCI/AAAAAAAABHE/kJ8YJeDbH0Y/s400/xmas-tree-3.jpg" height="400" width="312" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now if you wish to go one step further you could paint, ink or embellish your tree with buttons or sequins. Add some sparkle with distress stickles or kindyglitz.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c5UkNC9g1_w/UqgRk2XyloI/AAAAAAAABHM/vDcGZQ7cGWk/s1600/xmas-tree-top.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c5UkNC9g1_w/UqgRk2XyloI/AAAAAAAABHM/vDcGZQ7cGWk/s320/xmas-tree-top.jpg" height="320" width="281" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SLsNWMeYyQg/UqgR0SfCokI/AAAAAAAABHc/6LqW_3l3158/s1600/xmas-tree.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SLsNWMeYyQg/UqgR0SfCokI/AAAAAAAABHc/6LqW_3l3158/s400/xmas-tree.jpg" height="400" width="301" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Add some curling ribbon in Christmas or desired colours and your done!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Discarded paper novels look great made into trees too!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hope you like this alternative recycled Christmas Tree. I think its cute :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's starting to look a lot like Christmas. Our tree is up, our lights are up and we look like the Gingerbread house. Love it! Enjoy the festive season, it's a wonderful time of year xx</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

These paper ornaments are so quick and easy you could even get the kids to help your or make their own. Again a great creative way to use up your scraps, I used the scrapbook paper leftovers from my previous ornament!<br />

<span style="color: red; font-size: large;">Paper Christmas Ornaments</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7hkTEyVug-Y/Uq1Lx2j_peI/AAAAAAAABI8/FtoSlt7YH3Q/s1600/paper-orn-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7hkTEyVug-Y/Uq1Lx2j_peI/AAAAAAAABI8/FtoSlt7YH3Q/s320/paper-orn-1.jpg" height="299" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You will need scrapbooking paper in Christmas theme, brads, tiny hole punch and a ruler.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cut your paper into strips of 1/2in width (length can vary on the size you would like - mine are in 4in and 5in lengths)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0msMf4ZpCxY/Uq1L0xOUAaI/AAAAAAAABJM/RmTbA36sZF0/s1600/paper-orn-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0msMf4ZpCxY/Uq1L0xOUAaI/AAAAAAAABJM/RmTbA36sZF0/s320/paper-orn-2.jpg" height="320" width="265" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Using a tiny hole punch, punch holes in both ends of your strips of paper and place your brad.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-X9OnNbbaXNU/Uq1L0vfFjmI/AAAAAAAABJI/KjjX5QTCOz4/s1600/paper-orn-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-X9OnNbbaXNU/Uq1L0vfFjmI/AAAAAAAABJI/KjjX5QTCOz4/s320/paper-orn-3.jpg" height="246" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This next bit can be a bit tricky but trust me it does work out :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Starting with the bottom strip twist it out to begin forming your 'ball'. Then continue twisting each individual strip from the bottom until you are happy with the look and you are done!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5MNHsadVopE/Uq1L7bGJdDI/AAAAAAAABJs/iP_zwgm0YRA/s1600/paper-orn-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5MNHsadVopE/Uq1L7bGJdDI/AAAAAAAABJs/iP_zwgm0YRA/s320/paper-orn-4.jpg" height="306" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Aren't they just cute?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v87nZhfwohA/Uq1L3Tu9fRI/AAAAAAAABJU/RxyAJ476LPo/s1600/paper-orn-5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-v87nZhfwohA/Uq1L3Tu9fRI/AAAAAAAABJU/RxyAJ476LPo/s320/paper-orn-5.jpg" height="320" width="265" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Alternatively you can use ribbon but this is a lot more fiddly and time consuming but well worth it. Tie a know in the end of your ribbon then thread through your punched hole. Then with the first strip start threading on continuously pushing down the ribbon to form a semi circle fanning out as you go along. I love them!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tYg03ZJA2Ho/Uq1L4r8geZI/AAAAAAAABJc/iBbJmPh8hqM/s1600/paper-orn-6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tYg03ZJA2Ho/Uq1L4r8geZI/AAAAAAAABJc/iBbJmPh8hqM/s320/paper-orn-6.jpg" height="320" width="292" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
If you don't want to hang them on your tree they will look awesome arranged in a ball as a table centre piece! or maybe string them together to create a garland. Play and create :)<br />

Now if you don't own the TH alterations paper rosette dies you can get the same result using a scoreboard and cutting your rosettes into staggering width sizes.<br />
<br />
Depending on the number of rosettes you make will determine the size of your Christmas Tree. My little tree is 6 inches high.<br />
<br />
For this project you will need: TH Paper Rosette and mini Rosette (2 sizes), two sheets of Kaisercraft St Nick - Tis The Season Collection, some discarded cardboard backing (I used some from my Prima blossoms packaging) for the trunk, multi medium (or fake snow), Sticles Icicle, TH tinsel twine and hot glue gun or strong glue.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J3Lcw0nNOik/UqwTa69nd2I/AAAAAAAABIo/Nz1ahLhTb1Q/s1600/rosette+tree-7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J3Lcw0nNOik/UqwTa69nd2I/AAAAAAAABIo/Nz1ahLhTb1Q/s640/rosette+tree-7.jpg" width="547" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Stacked Rosette Christmas Tree</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ioo4Unl0PGk/Uqu0T2PAr4I/AAAAAAAABHw/fGW6hTx1cmI/s1600/rosette+tree-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="269" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ioo4Unl0PGk/Uqu0T2PAr4I/AAAAAAAABHw/fGW6hTx1cmI/s320/rosette+tree-2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Using a bigshot and TH Rosette dies cut the required number of rosettes from Kaiser 'St Nick' Tis the Season collection. Remember if you don't have these dies it is still possible to make using a scoreboard or even by hand.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UIAnddDPRX4/Uqu0Trwg8-I/AAAAAAAABH0/_UiZeM05WBc/s1600/rosette+tree-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UIAnddDPRX4/Uqu0Trwg8-I/AAAAAAAABH0/_UiZeM05WBc/s400/rosette+tree-3.jpg" width="275" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once you have made the desired number you can start to assemble, Use a hot glue gun or strong bonding glue because it can get quite heavy. I actually made the first few loosely so it created a tapper effect. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XCudglow93s/UqwShRxmQFI/AAAAAAAABIg/unlSxH2WjK0/s1600/rosette+tree.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XCudglow93s/UqwShRxmQFI/AAAAAAAABIg/unlSxH2WjK0/s320/rosette+tree.jpg" width="267" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Add a button on top and place some TH tinsel twine around it. Decorate with some small glitter berries.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6dimnskDNwk/Uqu0XR8texI/AAAAAAAABIA/fvLiaq0aOHU/s1600/rosette+tree-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6dimnskDNwk/Uqu0XR8texI/AAAAAAAABIA/fvLiaq0aOHU/s320/rosette+tree-4.jpg" width="267" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Cut a strip in the desired width from a piece of scrap cardboard (or the remains from one of your flower blossom packs like I did) you wish to make the trunk of your tree.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Dlq4CGvnpAA/Uqu0W3EvjtI/AAAAAAAABIE/jnPmxjQ7ODw/s1600/rosette+tree-5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="250" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Dlq4CGvnpAA/Uqu0W3EvjtI/AAAAAAAABIE/jnPmxjQ7ODw/s320/rosette+tree-5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: start;">Taking a skewer or very thin paint brush roll the cardboard into a cylinder, put small punched circles or chipboard flower buttons on each end, so it resembles a spool. Wrap some binding around the spool and add a small spray of blossoms and holly leaves.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: start;"><br /></span></div>

My tree has lots of these handmade ornaments from the kids when they were in kindy and pre primary (they lose interest once they get older). Some are dough shaped ornaments and many are paper festivity ornaments, my favourite is their gorgeous little felt stockings stitched with their own little hands. Here I am going to show you an easy yet very effective and pretty ornament using your left over scrap papers :)<br />
<br />
You will need a clear plastic ball ornament from a craft store or one of the dollar stores. I got mine from Spotlight. Some strips of paper. A little ribbon. You can add embellishments if you wish.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uq2VJJG7R_c/Uq1OUAPP5GI/AAAAAAAABJ0/NPo2JgPVsLc/s1600/orament.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uq2VJJG7R_c/Uq1OUAPP5GI/AAAAAAAABJ0/NPo2JgPVsLc/s400/orament.jpg" width="386" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Palatino Linotype', Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; text-align: center;">1. Cut strips of patterned Christmas paper (sheet music also works well) into strips of different widths. Mine were between 1/2″ and 3/4″. I used Kaisercraft Christmas Spirit - Jolly and Home For Christmas - Egg nog.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'Palatino Linotype', Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 25px; text-align: center;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3ZKCiVkAojA/Uq1OWI4e3jI/AAAAAAAABKA/DhREActpSPA/s1600/ornament-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3ZKCiVkAojA/Uq1OWI4e3jI/AAAAAAAABKA/DhREActpSPA/s320/ornament-1.jpg" width="258" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. Curl your paper strips around a thin paint brush handle or pencil, try to hold the paper tight when you get to the end so you get a good curl.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JDUxcqjDEFw/Uq1OYym3zdI/AAAAAAAABKI/Q7BAgpWrhmE/s1600/ornament-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="296" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JDUxcqjDEFw/Uq1OYym3zdI/AAAAAAAABKI/Q7BAgpWrhmE/s320/ornament-2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
3. Place the curls into your ornament, note the curls will uncurl a little when they are put inside. Continue adding until full.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uq2VJJG7R_c/Uq1OUAPP5GI/AAAAAAAABJ4/UU0fgNKsuXU/s1600/orament.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uq2VJJG7R_c/Uq1OUAPP5GI/AAAAAAAABJ4/UU0fgNKsuXU/s320/orament.jpg" width="309" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
4. Tie a ribbon in a bow in the loop at the top of your ornament. Add bakers twine or glitter string so you can hang on your tree.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hope I have inspired you to create your own little bit of 'Christmas sparkle'</div>
<br />

She is the most adorable little kitten, grey in colour and so soft and fluffy with loads of character. She had a collar on and apart from looking cold, hungry and a few fleas she was in good health. Thinking she must belong to someone, how could anyone dump a helpless little kitten so the kids did the door knock around the neighbourhood and although everyone said she was cute and would take her no one actually owned her. We put up notices, took her to the vet to check for microchipping and placed a photo on 'Lost and Found - Pets of Perth' Facebook page still nothing so the kids jokingly tell me she has adopted us!! and she has lol she has settled in so well, playing with (almost terrorising!) the other animals who quite happily like to sleep and laze about! Don't know that they are too happy having such an energetic ball of fluff around but she is here to stay :) So our fur family has grown by one and the kids named her Shadow :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--AMJWFG6ViA/UoxDro3f3LI/AAAAAAAABFM/tAeU786baWM/s1600/June.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--AMJWFG6ViA/UoxDro3f3LI/AAAAAAAABFM/tAeU786baWM/s400/June.jpg" width="382" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Step 1:<br />
Take G45 Foundation June Page and rough, buff, scrape, sand and distress as little or as much as you want! Not just the edges, try lightly sanding all over. Love this part of being creative :)<br />
<br />
Step 2:<br />
Scrap, brush, splash and splatter contrasting paint all over, remembering there are no mistakes! It all adds texture and character to your work! I used White & Salmon Dabber from Adirondak and Ranger No #15 Weather Vane.<br />
<br />
Step 3:<br />
Using MS Punch Gothic Arches punch a strip of Grey Bazill and layer under the distress edges so just a small amount shows through.<br />
<br />
Step 4:<br />
Lay two doilies and overlap with Postcard, small picture embellishment and tag cut from the June cut-aparts once edges are inked, some hessian, gauze and a little piece tulle before laying a 5x3 photo on top.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YnbC7n15GUQ/UoxL8z0U3RI/AAAAAAAABFk/POMC2hBDHIE/s1600/June+-+Flower.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YnbC7n15GUQ/UoxL8z0U3RI/AAAAAAAABFk/POMC2hBDHIE/s320/June+-+Flower.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Step 5:<br />
Finish off with a small cluster of flowers on lower right corner. I made the paper rose using TH die cut from an old book pages, the little buds were made from punch art vinca's, all flowers were inked with TH dried Marigold distress ink and ligthly spritzing with TA Chalkboard glimmermist Apricot Nectar. Place some Prima Swirls, then add some twine shaped into a circle to bring out the focal point of the photo.<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Step 6:<br />
lastly I added a pennant banner which has been machine stitched and held together with bakers twine. In the top left I placed a Vintage Chipboard button and used waxyflax which has been curled.<br />

It's always nice to receive a special handmade card, just makes the occasion that little bit more special! So if the thought of creating a handmade greeting card becomes a little daunting try using a basic card layout design. It really isn't as difficult as it might seem. Using different patterned paper or embossing folders and changing the embellishments can change the focus of a card allowing you to use the same simple sketch design over and over :)<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J6t52vhmB_M/UdepZ3COj_I/AAAAAAAABBc/z2mFSb_ukUM/s1600/Dream+Card.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="254" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-J6t52vhmB_M/UdepZ3COj_I/AAAAAAAABBc/z2mFSb_ukUM/s320/Dream+Card.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<br />
<ul>
<li>First step is to cut cardstock to the size you want. Mine is cut to 6x4 1/2</li>
<li>Then I cut a piece of coredinations pastel a little smaller and ran it through my bigshot to emboss</li>
<li>I then took some ribbon from my stash and adhered it across the bottom</li>
<li>Then I placed a smaller blossom in the right hand corner and used a rubon on word. <i>Voila!</i></li>
</ul>
<div>
Maybe this has inspired you to get a jump start on your Christmas card list :)<br />
<br />
Have a great day, I am off to enjoy some of this lovely sunshine while it lasts!<br />

I get asked a lot lately what is it you actually do with your photos! Scrapbooking is preserving your personal and family photos in a book, adding memorabilia, embellishments and journalling. Some people include stories or scrap by theme, like holidays, special events, family firsts etc. It's quite simple really, it is about getting your photos out of drawers and boxes and into albums for all to see. Now I really should start putting my pages into albums :)<br />
<br />
I have lots of photos of my little princess and her Shetland pony but I think this one is adorable! They have a special bond and spend a lot of time just casually walking around, Shawnee grazing while my girl chats away! It's like they understand each other.<br />
<br />
Using the gorgeous range from FabScraps, which is just beautiful with its fun designs which arrived in my latest kit from <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/" target="_blank">Wild About Scrap</a>, the best online Scrapbooking store! I hope you are inspired by my layout.<br />

<i><b>Project Products Used:</b></i><br />
<br />
FabScraps - Sweetpea<br />
Coredinations - Pastels Cardstock<br />
MS Punch border - Vintage Floral<br />
Petaloo - Mixed Textured Blossoms<br />
Petaloo - Mini Pearl Daisies<br />
Green Tara - Blossoms<br />
Tattered Angles Glimmer Glam - Grand Tetons<br />
Donna Salazar Chox - Sparrow & Petals<br />
Dusty Attic - Picket Fence<br />
Girls Paperie - Pennant Pins<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Hessian<br />
<br />
<br />
<b><i>Instructions:</i></b><br />
<br />
1. Using Fabscraps Sweetpea cut a small strip from two sides, just enough to allow the bazill cardstock to form a border or frame. Distress all four edges and then lightly ink with Donna Salazar Mix'd Media INX Chox, I used Petals.<br />
2. Take a 6x6 piece of Coredinations Pastel cardstock and emboss and punch one side with MS Vintage Floral, sand gently using a distressing tool. Wash with a light coat of TA Glimmer Glam, lightly ink edges and mount your photo.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-a1dEYdVrR_s/UdkHrTgVxPI/AAAAAAAABCw/rqcHArBS_aI/s1600/Friend-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="255" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-a1dEYdVrR_s/UdkHrTgVxPI/AAAAAAAABCw/rqcHArBS_aI/s320/Friend-2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
3. Arrange a floral cluster with your flower blossoms and other embellishments, add some twine. I added some hessian to give some texture.<br />
4. Paint your chipboard with a good gesso coating before inking with DS Chox. I allowed some of the gesso to show through on the fence to add an age worn look.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VUOYKPMOiao/UdkHqIFnEtI/AAAAAAAABCg/7L0hZdo0vwY/s1600/Friend-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="166" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VUOYKPMOiao/UdkHqIFnEtI/AAAAAAAABCg/7L0hZdo0vwY/s200/Friend-3.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
5. Add a small cluster of flower blossoms and embellies to top corner. I used a chipboard heart, blossoms and vintage key charm.<br />
6. Place chipboard letters over an old dictionary torn paper page using a little piece of hessian for more texture.<br />
7. Complete and now ready for a frame or album :)<br />
<br />
TIP: I like to first lay everything out and when I am happy with the placement of everything I will start to glue it all together, taking a photo so you can refer to it also helps!<br />

Growing up my boys would often ride their BMX bikes around the streets when younger, making jumps in the dirt in the bush or paddocks however I would never dream of letting my girls do this! Well finally my princess is a <i>Teenager!</i> and now expects to be allowed to go places on her own with friends! It's really hard letting her grow up and growing up she is, into a beautiful caring sensitive young lady who we are very very proud of!<br />
<br />
Onto scrapbooking! We all have one of <i>'those months</i>' and May just happens to be ours. So much happens right through the entire month, we have birthdays galore in the family - 3 of my children are May babies sharing the month with my wonderful Mum, sister in law, brother in law, nieces and nephews, we also have aniversaries, our wedding anniversary among them and my hubby always spoils me with the most amazing floral bouquets but I wanted to share a special birthday in my <i>A Year in Time </i>album, my beautiful girl turning thirteen and unless she is taking 'selfies' with her friends its very hard to get a photo of her!<br />
<br />
So I would like to share with you all my <i>May</i> page of<i> A Year in Time!</i> If you like the look and feel of texture on your projects you cant go past texture paste and stencils. I love them! So easy to use and the effects are awesome!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-O3PM9VX_fS0/Ued4yTuozQI/AAAAAAAABD8/TtYNQcHg8Ag/s1600/May+AYIT-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-O3PM9VX_fS0/Ued4yTuozQI/AAAAAAAABD8/TtYNQcHg8Ag/s400/May+AYIT-1.jpg" width="398" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
1. Using G45 May foundation <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=348_524_783&products_id=5393" target="_blank">A Place In Time</a> page I cut and distressed all four edges and adhered it to a piece of contrasting purple/lilac bazzill.<br />
<br />
2. I love these Creative Workshop templates! Using mini confetti and texture paste I applied randomly to my page as the first layer. Highlighing by gently rubbing with distress ink Milled Lavender.<br />
<br />
3. Taking a beautiful Ornate chipboard frame and clock I applied a generous coat of gesso to both and then lightly sanded to give a shabby look, then applied distress inks milled lavender and dusty concord before lightly spraying with TA pop rocks glimmer mist and I used Glamour Dust ice crystal glaze (ultra fine glitter paint) on the clock face.<br />
<br />
3. Using a small chipboard butterfly I first used a Gelly Roll pen <i>Purple Star </i>(I love these pens, so quick to add colour and glitter to chipboard) then placed 3 tiny self adhesive Say it with Pearls, gently folding up the wings to add some diminsion.<br />
<br />
4. Building my layers I first used a paper doily coloured again with distress inks in this case Milled Lavender. Using the reverse of G45 May cut-a-parts I cut from the striped pattern paper a piece to look like a banner/bunting flag laying this over a piece of cut lace which was coloured with TA Pop Rocks glimmermist. Place your photo and lay frame over the top.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uE6yMWxWW2c/Ued49vlFmgI/AAAAAAAABEE/1u-eRluO6Oo/s1600/May+AYIT-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="204" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uE6yMWxWW2c/Ued49vlFmgI/AAAAAAAABEE/1u-eRluO6Oo/s320/May+AYIT-2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
5. Next I arranged some purple Prima blossoms, a beautiful hand crocheted lavender flower, butterfly, purple button with bakers twine and placed a Prima Shabby Chic birdhouse resin. Using the May cut-a-parts I cut two sentiments of 'Happy Birthday' and scrolled the ends.<br />
<br />
6. Placing the clock and small blossom in the top left corner with scrap dots to lift it slightly and finishing with washi tape of two little birds on a branch under torn edge. Place some lavender pearls in the swirls and you are done.<br />
<br />
I think you get the idea my beautiful girl likes the colour purple! even her hair has purple dip dyed tips!<br />

These can be used as gifts but I love this one so much I think I might add it to the shelve and store some little charms in!

Still a little behind but hope to catch up real soon by doing an extra month this time round. I hope you are enjoying the album so far, I am having a lot of fun playing with all the fabulous products from the <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/" target="_blank">Wild About Scrap</a> store!<br />
<br />
As soccer is a big part of my eldest son and husbands life I thought I would dedicate <i>April</i> to this, being as it's the start of the season. He has been playing since he was 7 years old and I am thrilled and proud that he still plays today! My husband watches a lot of the EPL on the telly but is also involved in training and match games with my boy. Keeping with the distress theme of my album I had a play with paints for this months page. Normally I love to distress my edges with TH distress inks but as I have been playing with art journals I have rediscovered the wonderful texture and versatility of paint. So I had fun getting extremely messy! I did however try to keep this months page more grunge and boyish but as you can see some flowers just sneaked they way in lol.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qHQOZch7rUw/Uar2s12C71I/AAAAAAAABAE/N7QzzvQwA-U/s1600/April.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="311" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qHQOZch7rUw/Uar2s12C71I/AAAAAAAABAE/N7QzzvQwA-U/s320/April.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
1. Using the reverse of the G45 <i>April</i> foundation<a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=348_524_783&products_id=5393" target="_blank"> <i>A Place In Time</i></a>
page I cut and distressed all four edges and adhered it to a piece of contrasting yellow bazzill.<br />
2. Spritzing with some diluted gesso and DA Oceania paint I splashed, added droplets and flicked paint over and around the page. Using an old softdrink top I added white gesso circles and allowed to dry.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c5ANT7-8CA0/Uar4HRBDmqI/AAAAAAAABA0/yZ1LRl8RVmg/s1600/April%233.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c5ANT7-8CA0/Uar4HRBDmqI/AAAAAAAABA0/yZ1LRl8RVmg/s200/April%233.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
3. Using the coordinating cut apat from previous months which were left over I chose some green patterned
floral paper, a tag, and a postcard which I distressed. Also using a MS scalloped edge punch on a piece of Donna Salazar patterned paper strip, inking the edges with <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=846_82_215" target="_blank">TH distress ink</a> Vintage Photo, a heart shaped lace doily and more core'dination cardstock which I stamped with Prima Script cling stamp.<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
4. Arrange and layer all pieces under a small landscape photo which has been matted on Core'dindations cardstock and distressed. I also added a blue arrow from Kaiser.<br />
5. Adding a few flowers from <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3_617" target="_blank">Petaloo</a> and <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3_327" target="_blank">Prima</a>. (just can't help myself! don't you agree a layout isn't quite finished unless it has at least one or two flowers)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-S1CJKjCmzq0/Uar3nyJ-O2I/AAAAAAAABAk/rLwwiz5UJlw/s1600/April%232.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-S1CJKjCmzq0/Uar3nyJ-O2I/AAAAAAAABAk/rLwwiz5UJlw/s200/April%232.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
6. Lastly I finished with a handmade calico banner which I stamped with the Prima Script cling stamp, threaded with jute.<br />

Art Journals</h4>
<div>
What is an art journal you ask, basically it is a diary. It can be a daily journal or just about everyday things each month or memorable moments that you wish to journal about. How you use it is entirely up to you :)</div>
<br />
Art journals are fun and a great way to learn or share new techniques. I am going to share a quick step by step to creating your very own <i>Art Journal </i>page. I love the freedom of these journals, you can try new products or techniques and be as creative as you like, journals are awesome for using up all those little bits of left overs or your stash :). First you need a book, can be a cheap exercise book or a hardcover blank book in whatever size you like. Then you need to decide what you are going to put on your page. Journal about the things you love, what's on your mind, where you've travelled, things you are grateful for or inspire you, choose a song and add the lyrics or maybe what you want your future to hold. So lets get started...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4rAXUzb9Eaw/UV_IipRALeI/AAAAAAAAA60/tUUIQi-3gtM/s1600/Journal-tut%231.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4rAXUzb9Eaw/UV_IipRALeI/AAAAAAAAA60/tUUIQi-3gtM/s320/Journal-tut%231.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<h4>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #6fa8dc;">Step One: </span><span style="color: black;"><span style="font-weight: normal;">Gesso is your friend and a great base, so apply some to your page and while </span><span style="font-weight: normal;">that's</span><span style="font-weight: normal;"> drying you can use this time to go pick out some scrap papers, embellishments, inks, pens or markers from your stash or if like me you are a little impatient give it a blast with your heat gun. (No need for this step if your page is white, has no blemishes or bleeding from previous pages)</span></span></span></h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2SgEDiA8gqQ/UV-lNBlm1XI/AAAAAAAAA5s/LdY-wviTW_A/s1600/Journal-tut%232.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2SgEDiA8gqQ/UV-lNBlm1XI/AAAAAAAAA5s/LdY-wviTW_A/s320/Journal-tut%232.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: black;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></span></span></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white;"><b style="color: #6fa8dc; font-weight: normal;">Step Two: </b>Choose two or three distress inks and use your blending tool - I used Tattered Rose, Aged Mahogany and Scattered Straw. Mist lightly with water to help blend all the colours together. Gives a lovely soft look. Another idea for backgrounds is using an old giftcard or credit card and scrapping paint over the page for really cool effect!</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #6fa8dc;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="color: black;"> </span><b><br /></b></span></span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #6fa8dc;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="color: black;"><br /></span></span></span></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #6fa8dc;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><b>Step Three: </b></span></span></span><span style="background-color: white;">Pick out one of your favourite Glimmermists or Perfect Pearl Mists in coordinating colour and spray onto your page. I used <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=162_163" target="_blank">Tattered Angels </a>Vintage Pink, adds a really nice sheen! Watercolours are also great.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-c-MzwOpGulg/UWABEYy-CKI/AAAAAAAAA7c/OjNYmwlfF8k/s1600/jpurnal-tut%234.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="224" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-c-MzwOpGulg/UWABEYy-CKI/AAAAAAAAA7c/OjNYmwlfF8k/s320/jpurnal-tut%234.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><br /></span></div>
<h4>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #6fa8dc;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><b>Step Four: </b></span></span></span><span style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="background-color: white; color: black;">C</span><span style="background-color: white; color: black;">hoose some <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=517_226" target="_blank">stencils</a>, templates or punches and create your design, you might like to add some texture and depth. Ripped paper, drywall tape and other household items can add extra interest and texture. Using <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=846_82_848" target="_blank">TH Distress Paints</a>, <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=846_82_215" target="_blank">TH Distress Inks</a>, Donna Salazar mixed media</span></span><span style="background-color: white; font-weight: normal;"> </span><a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=846_623_825" style="font-weight: normal;" target="_blank">Inx Chox</a>, <span style="background-color: white; font-weight: normal;">texture paste or any other medium you like just keep building layers.</span></h4>

<span style="background-color: white;">TIPS: Jar lids, bottle tops, sponges, kitchen spatula's, plastic doily's, steel wool and so much more can be used to create different textures on your backgrounds in your journal. Just think outside the square :)</span></div>

I had so much I wanted to do but only achieved half and I am still making lots of Mother's Day gift for my youngest daughters school stall which is next week - eeek!!<br />
<br />
Thought I would share here a really cute idea for altering Tea Light candles and when wrapped look really pretty and make an inexpensive gift! Who doesn't love candles! <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rqLdr1ng1es/UYMneJgluHI/AAAAAAAAA-A/SWsNc3rX_SE/s1600/alteredcandle.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rqLdr1ng1es/UYMneJgluHI/AAAAAAAAA-A/SWsNc3rX_SE/s320/alteredcandle.jpg" width="264" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pDnERnAyTjc/UYMoSkyxdZI/AAAAAAAAA-I/H4USfJdYVzI/s1600/altered+candles.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="204" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pDnERnAyTjc/UYMoSkyxdZI/AAAAAAAAA-I/H4USfJdYVzI/s320/altered+candles.jpg" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I cut out 1 1/2in circles using my cricut of some scrap patterned cardstock from my stash, punched a small hole for the wick then placed on coordinating card stock. Finishing off with a thick ribbon for decoration.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(of course the paper disc will need to be removed before lighting!!) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Now back to some more sewing and hopefully finish off a few potpourri sachets :)<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by, hope you all have something wonderful planned for the weekend, May is our busiest month as a family! and it all starts tomorrow xx<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

2. Spritzing a little water to help soften and manipulate the paper I scrunched up and distressed just a small section, placing a small doily behind, adding a tiny Prima flower and butterfly from Collections.<br />
3. Using the coordinating cut apat from March I chose the patterned floral paper reverse side and used a MS layered arches edge punch, inked the edges with <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=846_82_215" target="_blank">TH distress ink</a> Vintage Photo then placing some pretty scalloped lace over and a small doily in the bottom right corner.<br />

Usually just to mend something but as I had said in an earlier post our school has organised a stall for Mother's Day so the kids can purchase inexpensive gifts. Trying to come up with ideas was really hard and it's not like our p&c had surplus funds to go purchase at the wholesalers!<br />
<br />
The other day I needed to sew on a button and do you think I could find a needle, nope! Then I remembered I had this really sweet needlebook I bought at a craft fair awhile back sitting in my draw so I thought I would give it ago. It didn't look to fiddly, quite simple actually. So I thought lol! Off to spolight to grab some cheap fabric and wadding, then started cutting out. This took the longest time, I tried to save time by cutting out a number at the one time but made so many mistakes I went back to individually cutting each book. Anyway I am really pleased with how these turned out. I just love the little fabric gathered flower too.<br />

A few years back I made cute cupcakes with socks so this time round I have made these little cute cupcakes using facewashers and dish cloths. I just love how these little cupcakes look all pretty packaged ready for our stall! Hope the Mum's like them too :) Good thing we are on school holidays at the moment and I have time to play!!<br />

<br />
After spending 14 years at the local primary school in our area, having all three of my older children completing their primary school education there and my baby doing kindy and pre primary, with myself volunteering in the classrooms, canteen, sport carnivals and for quite a number of years on the P&C holding various positions we learnt that we no longer lived in the intake boundary. A new school was built, completed and opened in February this year in one of the many new estates popping up in the area and was to be <i>our</i> new school! How very exciting!<br />
<br />
The start of the school year this year meant many chances for all three! My second eldest welcoming his siter into high school, such a big chance for her from primary school and my baby starting year one and a new school! I have hidden the journalling in the scroll. We are set for a very exciting, busy and fun year!<br />
<br />
This is the second page in my 8x8 Easel Album, I really am enjoying these gorgeous G45 papers. If you head on over to <a href="http://www.wildaboutscrap.com.au/store/" target="_blank">Wild About Scrap</a> store you can grab yourself a pack and maybe join us in our journey - <i>A year in time!</i><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
1. Using the front of the G45 <i>February</i> foundation <i>A Place In Time</i> page and adding some Kaiser blue bling to the swirls to bring in the colour of the photo.<br />
2. I used Coredinations Whitewash and embossed with cuttlebug script, then sanded and inked with TH Broken China distress ink as my photo mat.<br />
3. Layered photo onto a paper doily.<br />
4. Cutting the pattern paper from <i>January</i> cut aparts reverse and using TH Mini Paper Rosettes die I made three small rosettes using buttons for the centres.<br />
5. Adding some left over Prima sprays, blossoms and Manor House leaves in the bottom left and top right corners.<br />
6. A tiny scroll hides some journalling and is held closed with some twine tied in a bow. <br />
7. Finishing off with a few sentiments from the cut aparts in the very back of the pack and small square cut out from <i>April</i>.<br />
<br />

<span style="color: #c27ba0;"><i><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">January</span></span></i> </span></h2>
<span style="color: #c27ba0;"> <span style="color: black;">January is my birthday month and for many years now my wonderful husband has always spoilt me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Jesson's Flowers and this year was no exception! <span style="color: #c27ba0;"><span style="color: black;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="color: #c27ba0;"><span style="color: black;"><br /></span></span>
1. I chose to use the reverse of G45 <i>Place in Time</i> foundation January page as the cool blues just didn't go.<br />
2. I matted the G45 onto Pink Bazzill after I distressed with TH distress tool and gently inked with Vintage Photo distress ink. <br />
3. Slightly overlap the G45 cut aparts and heart shaped doily embellishments under photo which was matteded on pink bazzill.<br />
4. Add a chipboard swirl which was painted with TH Distress Paint Antique Linen, then lightly spray with GlimmermistTattered Rose.<br />
5. Using Gelly Roll glitter pen Green, colour in the leaves.<br />
6. Arrange blossoms and buds, adding some tiny paper swirls.<br />
7. Place Pinkpaislee Artisan Chipboard butterfly's which have been inked with TH distress ink Victorian Velvet and addsome pink pearls.<br />
8. Randomly place a few Kaiser Pink Pearls on the swirls in each corner.<br />
9. Finish with some sayings from the extra cut aparts from the back of the G45 paper pack.<br />
<br />
I hope you are able to play along and make your very own special calender of events, it's going to be so much fun!<br />
