Try as I might..

there just never seems to be enough hours in the day! Haven't had much time for scrapping these last few days what with sick kids, sick horses needing attention and just your usual day to day happenings, housework, cleaning, running children here and there, all the usual things we must do and attend to. So I thought I would update with a couple of layouts I did some time back and never got around to putting up. First one is of my gorgeous boy and his beautiful girl before the ASHS year 12 ball, second is of my cute little princess.

First layout

Sorry not a good shot, is on a tilt but you get the idea.
Kaiser papers, DA frame, Petaloo color me crazy flowers with assorted blossoms made into a vine with leaves, Thickers playroom alpha coloured with Tattered Angels glimmermist & Ranger dabbers.

close up of the vines, had fun making this!

and the second layout below...

Bazzill, Prima papers, Prima floral vine, DA chipboard birdies, Scrapware chipboard name plate, kaiser bling swirls, beaded trim and assorted blossoms.

Close up of the flower cluster, vines and beaded trim.

Have said it before lol but I seriously need to clean my scrapping space, especially my desk and hopefully I will find some mojo and don't they say start with a clean desk and clean up afterwards you tend to get more done, hmm shall we give it a go and see if they are right? Will let you know :)

Have a fabulous weekend and hopefully you too will get loads of scrappy stuff done :) thanks so much for stopping on by...

Cards

before I began scrapping I liked to make cards, nothing to flash but I enjoyed fiddling with papers, stamping and colouring the images etc. These days I don't usually find time to make many cards, usually just for family and friends on occassions then a friend suggested to start making them from the scraps that get left from doing a LO, great idea and one I plan to start doing, well when I eventually get organised lol. Then I will have a stash of cards to choose from when a birthday or special event comes along! Below are two cards I made recently, somewhat plain, they were quick and easy but just a little different. Hope you like them :)

First is a trifold angle card embellished with Prima flower and stick pins and a delicate butterfly!

Close up of the cover.

Second card is very basic. I machine stitched the layers together, placed a few hand stitches using DMC floss and then added ribbon and a bow with a small metal flower and pearl.

Thanks for taking the time to drop by, hope you have managed to get lots of scrapping done over the last few days, my aim is to finish off some projects over the next day or two!

Bird House

Here is an off the page project I completed the other day. Using the Twiddleybitz Birdhouse and stand. Was such a fun project once I got the birdcage made correctly, only took three goes lol my dd thought it was amusing! I crackle painted all over then inked to try and get an aged effect. I couldn't find a vine big enough to wind up through the stand so made one using the color me crazy by Petaloo roses some Green Tara rose buds. I am really happy with the way it turned out. TFL!

Twiddlybitz Birdhouse and stand, Color me Crazy Roses, leaves, Green Tara white buds, Sting of pearls, Ranger picket fence distress crackle paint, birds.

Close up of the two cute little birds!

Thanks for stopping on by, hope you all have a great weekend!

Canter

A while back I remember reading that your pages don't always need to be covered in pretty embellishments to be beautiful! Sometimes its good to use the 'apply-less' rule and bring the focus back to the photo. This is what I have done with this layout of my dd riding her pony, she loves to canter and sometimes struggles to get her pony to canter in a confined arena, she would much rather go out on the trails and canter there. It won't be long before she is too big for riding her beloved Bonnie, she has taking to riding my mare around the grassed paddock and I know it won't be long before she is asking to ride her out!

Echo Park - Floral Dress, Basic Grey - Pagentry, Bazzill
Prima branches, Dusty Attic fence, birds on a branch, hinges.

What are your thoughts on embellishments?
Hope to spend a bit more time updating over the next few days so I hope you have time to drop on back by :)

Have a scrappy week everyone.

Tilly

I have rekindled my love of sketches :) so much fun and they really help get your creativity and scrap on! A few months ago we took in a rescue kitty, Matilda she is a Ragdoll cross and the most adorable thing and I find it so hard to believe that somebody would have dumped her. She has fitted in so well, its like she has always been part of the family.

Let's Scrap sketch
As you can see I only used the left side of the sketch and I flipped it as well.
Below is my take. TFL!

Used Kaiser papers, Dusty Attic chipboard fence, Prima flowers & Bazzill.

Go have a look at Let's Scrap and get inspired :)

Thanks for dropping by, have a great day!

Once Upon A Sketch

When I first started scrapbooking I used alot of CM products and thier sketch designs, you know the ones that came on the cardboard when you order a paper pack. I then progressed to Becky Fleck and Becky Higgins sketches. Using sketches are so much fun and can be quite challenging as you don't want it to look exact so helps get the creative juices going.

This is my first sketch challenge in a while. Once Upon A Sketch blog do a monthly sketch and you have the chance to win some wonderful prizes. Go check out all the amazing talent on this blog, some stunning, inspirational and very creative layouts. Well worth the visit. Just so scrap-delishous! Below is my take :)

July's monthly sketch

My take!
Using Prima Madeline Collection - Madeline, Prima flowers, Prim notecards, DA chipboard bunting, ornate corner #6, botanic accent #1, TH weathered wood distress ink, assorted flowers and stamens.

Journal (notice how its hand written - something I rarely ever do!)
Maddison & Alysa both love their ponies. If Maddie goes for a ride on Bonnie,
sure enough Alyssa will want to ride Shawnee.
