Hollow book...

I have seen a few of these books done and they look fantastic... so I decided I would give one a go! Found a nice sized hard cover book at the local secondhand book shop, didn't dare tell the lovely lady what I intended on doing to it!
I paused momentarily to appreciate the book I was about to destroy, feeling a little guilty! Grabbed the gladwrap, tiger glue and my craft knife and set to task having fun like a school kid.
I covered the outside and pages I didn't want altered or glued with gladwrap. Then applied loads and loads of tiger grip glue to the edges and then put on something heavy, in this case my container of dabber paints and detress inks.
Waiting for it to dry took what seemed like ages!!

Cutting out all the inside pages took some time and a few blade changes! First few I used a metal ruler but once I got down a few layers it was easy to just follow the edges.

and this is how it looks before I begin to alter it!
Hope to be able to spend time on it in the next few days!

Thanks for dropping by. Have a great day!

Precious...

from my eldest to my youngest...all my babies are precious!! We do alot of 4x4driving and this photo of my baby Baby was taken while up at Edah Station last year in October. The kids loved the trip as they got to see how a station operates and the old machinery used, nothing like what gets used these days. Lots of bush walking, driving and plenty of things to discover. Hope to go back up one day...

Using Websterpages Your Life. Beuatiful I cut out the little birdcage and inked the edges, distressed then inked the edges of the paper, placed on Green Bazzill. Used Prima blossom and flowers, some from a very old stash! The white ones match the paper so I just added a half pearl and stickled it yellow. Lace around the photo was a bargin at the Railwat Markets (love that place!) added DA mini word and tiny birds. Paper Doily and Kaiser pearls.
Close up of some of the flowers and cut work.

Thanks for stopping on by. School holidays start tomorrow and include the Easter break. Don't know that I will get alot of free time to scrap but there are always the monthly crop nights :) I am working on a hollow book, so much fun and hope to post my progress in a day or two.

Have a fantastic day!

Teenagers...

No matter how many times I plan to update I never seem to get around to it! my poor blog is being neglected - again, all because time seems to rushing on by.. I am so BAD but I do plan to make a bigger effort. Now that the weather is cool, we had rain yesterday, yay! and they are forcasting more over the weekend which is good, I hope to find more time to scrap and post. Summer is over and Autumn is here.

I am really happy with this layout, although I started it at a crop and the intention was to pile it with odd bits then mist it all over I just couldn't bring myself to do it, so instead I glimmermisted the edges and distress inked the middle. Its a photo of my eldest son and his girlfriend at the zoo, typical of young ones, fooling around!

Using Bazzill resist paper, Perfect Pearls Mist, TH Distress Ink Tumbled Glass and Vintage Linen, Heart shaped doily, Prima flowers, Kaiser Blossoms, Lace, Twiddleybitz Branch with Birds, Prima Bling Swirls and handmade pin.

Once upon a time..

I made this sweet little Twiddleybitz 6x6 shadow box into a fairy garden for my DD. Started it a month ago at a crop night by glueing it together and painting it, originally with crackle paint but wasn't happy with the effect so sanded it and distressed it some more until I was happy and then added Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime Collection papers. Lots and lots of fine cutting but it was fun. Final finished last Friday at the crop night lol! Maddie is really happy with it so I am happy :)

Twiddleybitz Shadow Box with added verandah, Adirondack Dabber Salmon, Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime Collection Primrose Cotton, Woodland Fantasy, Kaiser pearls, Prima Flowers, RW lamp post, Leaf trim, beaded trim, hinges, stickles and wood fibres.

Close up of some of the fine cutting.

Thank you for stopping by! Wishing you all a happy scrappy week!

Handsome

Been neglecting my blog of late. Busy with life and such. I hope to spend the day photographing what I have managed to sneak in over the last few weeks :) but here is a layout I completed awhile back of my gorgeous handsome young man, photo taken at his year seven grad night. Time just flies and they grow up so very quick! Hard trying not to use flowers, but these I thought went well together.

used Bo Bunny Cambridge paper, black bazzill, DA Chippie Ornate corner,Hinges, Flourish and Mini words. Glimmer mist and UTEE and a tiny bit of muslin. I added hidden journalling behind the main photo on a tag.
