Finding time....

To scrap is hard these last few weeks. What with all the kids at school now you'd think I could find a few hours here and there but not alot of time left in the day for doing much craft with being DS#1 personal taxi, running errands etc but hopefully all that will change now that both School and 4wd AGM's are over and committee meetings are almost done! Things might just get back to normal! Then I will only have this horrible hot humid weather to contend with. Mother nature surely is grumpy these days with all this heat, cyclones up north, floods on the East coast and devasting earthquakes in NZ! Heartbreaking seeing such a beautiful city in ruins. :(

Below is a LO I finished the other week but needed to find a backing paper, I don't know that it really needed one but I kept looking at it thinking it was unfinished.

My Minds Eye, Lost & Found Madison Avenue paper, DA wrought iron fence & birdcage, lace,
Prima flutter vine, Kaiser paper blooms, handmade flowers & Stampin Up two step bird punch.

Close up!

Hope your able to stay cool! Have a great day and Thanks for dropping by

Quick fun cards

I made these cute fun cards last week. While browsing FB newsfeed I saw a friend (Breedeen) had posted a beautiful card on her gallery. It was simply stunning and had gorgeous butterflies on it and was made using the step template. Thanks so much for sharing this Breedeen and getting me hooked! :) So I set off looking on the web for instructions and came across Julie's Stampin Spot tutorial. There are many variations and here are the two cards I made 'Congratulations It's a Boy!' for the arrival of my gorgeous grt nephew Cameron who arrived safely on 31st January and a '1st Birthday' boy card for my gorgeous grt nephew Mitchell. Can't believe he's one already!! Thanks for looking.

Side step card using Jackie Topa's Dresser tutorial. Such a cute design and just ideal for a 'Welcome' baby card with a teddy. Love these little drawers!

This card was made with Julie's tutorial. So quick and easy and can be used for all occassions.
I cut the animals from Kaiser Fun Fair range.

Side view of the step card. As you can see it sits really nicely and such a fun card for kids!

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you have a great day.

Stylish Blogger Award

I have been neglecting my Blog recently, sometimes life just gets in the way, so I was a little shocked when I returned home after being away for a day visiting my Mum to see a comment from Andrea from the Stylish Scapality informing me she was awarding me the Stylish Blogger award! Wow, Thank you so much Andrea, I truly do feel honoured - so to accept this award I need to pass the award onto another 8 Stylish blogs and list 8 things about myself.  Sounds like fun! So here goes....

1) I am a SAHM and loving it!
2) I have four beautiful children – 2 boys and 2 girls, they are my world!
3) I love to volunteer, find it hard to say NO! Some days I wonder if its all really worth it!
4) I live on 5 acres with family, horses, ponies, dogs, cats, chickens and a rabbit.
5) Rural living is fantastic and great for the kids.
6) I drive a Nissan Patrol (lost my Cruiser :( in the hail storm!)
7) 4wdriving is great fun so is camping.
8) I spend way too much time on my laptop -  facebook’ing, forums and blog hopping – its an addiction!

Valentine

So my eldest boy and his girl had decided that they wanted to keep Valentine's Day simple, and relatively inexpensive. He asked if I could make a card. So I did. Chantal's favourite colour is blue, not your traditional colour of Love but I wanted to create something she would hopefully cherish.
So along with the card, he will give a single long stem rose of chocolate and a small block of chocolate thats has embossed the words 'I heart You' - really sweet and simple!

card is double mounted on bazzill, embossed with cuttlebug script and lightly inked. Hearts cut from cricut, larger one embossed with cuttlebug Stylized Flowers and I used glitter on the smaller ones with doubled sided jac paper. Prima flower top corner and small roses & leaves, kaiser bling added bottom right.

Thanks for looking and I hope everyone is lucky enough to enjoy some love on Valentine's Day!

Wishing you all a scrappy weekend.

Well worth the look! Scrapperlicious is jam packed with inspiring projects and fantastic tutorials and lots and lots of gorgeous EYE CANDY!! Irene's blog is on my regular visit list :) and I am sure it's on your too.

Scrap Challenge

I have so much scrapbooking scrap I often wonder what others do with it. I try my hardest to colour store in folders but sometimes, well it just don't happen. I really would like to start using it up instead of just giving it to the kids all the time. So I asked others and they do challenges, what a great idea. So I set about trying just that. I machine stitched to bits together and went digging. Harder than you think as its difficult to get papers to co ordinate lol. So the layout below is made from my stash, only new piece was the Prima Fluttervine :)

This is my beautiful daughter Maddi, she hates having her photo as she dislikes her sunkisses so much. Informs me that when she finally gets to wear make-up they'll be gone!
Flowers are handmade from a few days ago, tag was made using the Prima backing card that the blossoms come on and a page from an old novel. Left over Kaiser bling cut up.
Close ups of the flowers and tag. TFL!

Thanks for dropping by. Have a great day.

Folded flower

While surfing the net I often come across links, vidz or tutorials I save to my favourites to come back to later. There is so much out there and easy to get soaked up in it all. One of my fav sites is Simply Paper, Vicky has great flower tutorials down the side of her blog and below is one of the flowers I made using her Folded Flower tutorial. Very simple to follow instructions with photos. I find these type of tutorials better than the video ones, just my opinion, as I usually have to replay the vidz or constantly pause them while I figure it out :) There is also a 9 petal fold I want to try as well. Why not give them a go.

Its such a simple flower but very pretty, don't you think.

It also lays quite flat so very good for layouts that go into albums.

Thanks for dropping by.
Have a fab day!
