I love OTP projects and this is my latest, a cute Gingerbread House from 'Make it Crafty'

You need both the Base House and Gingerbread House Decorations (sold separately) and I mounted mine on a thick piece of chipboard.

I tried to give the effect of snow with texture paste and then added some Twinklets Diamond Dust for a bit of 'glitz'

I made a sweet little Pine tree using TH rosette dies.

view from above.

so happy with my little rosette tree! :)

Summer Fun

Whats great about Summer.... having a pool.. well the kids think so, they spend hours and hours cooling off and having heaps of fun.  These photos were taken a few years back but even though they are much older I think they have just as much or maybe even more fun! and we end up topping the pool more often from all the splashing about and bombies!

Kaiser papers, Bazzill, Birch Papercraft, MylittleShoebox, DMC floss, Prima flower, Making memories rubons.

Let's Scrap sketch
I really love this sketch and plan to do a few more layouts using it! Even a double or two :)

close-up of the really nice Birch paper, embossed and glittery!

Thanks for dropping on by, hope you are managing to stay cool! Check back soon as I am participating in a 'blog hop' which is going to be so much fun!

Fussy cutting

This Echo Park paper just screamed out 'cut me up' so I did lol! Victoria Gardens is such a very pretty paper with gorgeous details. The photo is of my beautiful dd on New Year's Eve last year when we always go down to Fremantle and watch the final sunset of the year. I captured her in a very tranquil moment. I must apologise for the first photo, doesn't really show the true colours, not very good light this morning and I took these with my phone as my SLR is buried in the robe with 1000's of Christmas presents on top - oops!

EP Victoria Gardens 'Rose Garden' Bazzill,  Kaiser Bling, Kaiser Pearls, Collection Butterflies, DA Lamp Post, Leaf ribbon and TH Distress Ink.
Distressing was done with the wonderful Ingvild Bolme distresser, such a MUST have tool for any scrapper, LOVE it!

I used Cotton Candy stickles and outlined all the rose detail but its a bit hard to see, so much nicer IRL!

close up of my fussy cutting and stickled rose :)

Thanks for stopping on by on this Christmas Eve eve, my kids are so excited that Santa will be here in two sleeps, well my precious baby girl is the other three just humour her! We have the philosophy in our house 'Don't believe, don't receive' :)

Have a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year! Xxx

More Christmas projects

Both the girls love giving handmade stuff out and they both like helping me make them which is really nice, we get to spend more time together. Below are the little layered gift boxes (they look like little presents when closed up) and are great for putting in little chocolates and the like. I used Kaiser Christmas papers and TH Alterations movers & shapers to decorate. Pictured are only two that I made, forgot to photograph the other two :( teachers loved them!

We made Santa sleighs to give to friends. Easy as, just cut the sleigh from Cricut Christmas Cheer, add candy canes for the sleigh runners and top with a cellophane lolly bag filled with Christmas chocolates and candy!

Thanks for stopping by, hope you are having a wonderful evening!

Busy

I have been kept busy these last few days doing Christmas crafts. Both my girls like to give out cards & candy canes at the end of year and I try to make it a little more fun and interesting so this year my little one gets to give out cookie cutter ornaments! Flicking through a Stampin Up! catalogue in the back showcasing their ribbon collection were Christmas cookie cutters and I loved the idea and then while browsing The Paper Tree blog the lovely Sarah also had cookie cutter ornaments - same idea two very different places and I thought I just have to give these a go, they looked so cute! They are so easy although time consuming but just lots and lots of fun and the end results are so stinking cute, don't you think!!! Below are only two, a Christmas Tree and a Bell, I made 18 different shapes including Angels, Gingerbread man, Stars and Reindeer, we  filled them with a candy cane and chocolate baubles, sealed with acetate and decorated with Holly leaves, kept it simple so my little one could help..

and just for a bit of fun we are going to give her Kindy teacher a Survival Kit! I made one a few years back and had lots of comments and my son's teacher was so thrilled to receive such a fun yet useful gift. We are also giving a more traditional gift - a gorgeous Gingerbread House candle from Dusk.

I have a few other Christmas projects I will share in a day or two as its getting late. Thanks for stopping on by, have a fun week!

Where does the time go?

I have loads of photos still sitting in developed envelopes waiting to be scrapped! My baby is now four and I still have lots of her 'baby' photos unscrapped and not in her album. I really need to get some system going but I love taking photos and I am drawn to the recent ones and seem to forget about the older ones :(
Below is another awesome Let's Scrap sketch and I love these photos so much and thought they were perfect for this sketch. Still only managing one side lol! Think I may need to try and do more doubles next year. May help in catching up on all these photos!

Paper Christmas Tree

Just love Christmas time! Spending it with family and friends, just catching up and spending precious moments and making memories which one day we will reflect back on, oh and of course watching the joy on my kids faces as they open their presents on the big day! I also love getting creative and playing. As you know I love to blog hop, so many inspirational blogs out there with loads and loads of fabulous ideas and awesome projects. It always delights me the creativity and awesome projects these very talented crafters come up with. I came across some very gorgeous Christmas trees made with doilies and one with paper cones, below is my version of a paper Christmas Tree.

 cut 2in x 2in squares, ink edges
rolled into cone shape and glued.

Using metal dressmakers pins, pin cone to a foam cylinder with point facing up.

Glossy accents on the edges then dipped in Twinklets Diamond Dust.
My finished Tree!

Thanks for stopping on by, look forward to hearing what Christmas projects you've been doing.
Have a great day!

Card & sneak peak

Every third week at Let's Scrap we get a sketch for a card. Below is my take, just a simple vintage style card which I thought suited this sketch. I had a lot of fun with this and it came together really fast, which is unusual for me!! I love making little stick pins, so much fun and they look so pretty added to flowers, ribbon or in this case a piece of lace.

The silly season is almost upon us, counting down in days now and my girls are getting so very excited! Fairy lights are going on the roof and through the garden. Nearly time to get the tree and decorations out of storage - oh don't you just love this time of year, I sure do! So below is a sneak peak of a project I am working on, one of many! lol! So please stay tuned!

Please pop back in soon and I will reveal the finished creation :) Thanks for dropping in and enjoy the rest of the week.

Finding time

to update my blog and scrap equals not enough hours in the day! I tend to paper shuffle quite a bit so this makes me a slow scrapper. Amazing me how some can just pick a piece of paper, grab a photo, a few embellishments and end up with such a materpiece! Truly wish I had that knack but me, I need to place a photo on this bit of paper and then on that bit, look at it matted then unmatted, I do prefer matted its just a personl thing. Then does it need flowers or bling or should I focus on the photo. I like to build, slowly bit by bit. I find crafting relaxing so don't like to rush. Anyway I finished these two layouts at a recent crop night, wasn't the usual fun banter of chatter going on so I actually did more than usual lol! The first is my youngest dd trying for the first time Mexican donuts at San Churro's in Rockingham. The second is my eldest dd practising her clarinet. I played also when younger and I do love hearing her play, just hope she continues :) TFL!

Using Madame Boutique Collection from Kaiser, these are such pretty papers, MS punch, DA chipboard corner, Kaiser flowers and a handmade burlap grunge flower, Kaiser Swirls
Close up of my handmade grunge burlap flower - was so much fun making this!

Just love the MS Butterfly punch, so pretty.
Abi's Craft Bird Song, Love Sonnet paper, Bazzill. Music notes cut from the Cricut, Rosettes from TH die, Twiddleybits birdcage, Bling, handmade stick pins (another of my favourite things!) Manor house leaves.

Thanks for stopping on by, be sure to pop back soon as I am in the thro's of getting my fingers all inky and playing with little bits of scraps - Christmas is fast approaching, my favourite time of year!

Graze

Well here is a layout I did last week or was it the week before lol, I am losing track of time! Just a simple layout following a sketch from Let's Scrap using either a large photo or a collection of photos. I chose two 7x5 photos of our horses grazing out back. They love the lush grass that grows on the ecomax, its not often that they are let out this close to the house.
Can't remeber the paper (oops!) but the material is from a online scrap shop in the US which is no longer. The little horseshoe I made from a clipart and added some tiny flowers and buds.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are all having a great start to the week!
